Preparations are complete for the Paragliding Accuracy Pre-World Cup, which begins on Friday at Solang Nala in Manali. The four-day event is being organised for the first time in Solang by the Manali Paragliding Association.
Paragliding pilots from across India, along with Army personnel and international participants, will take part in the competition. Pilots will showcase their flying and landing skills from an altitude of around 10,000 feet.
Manali Paragliding Association president Ved Ram Thakur said pilots would take off from Fataru and land at Solang Nala during the competition. He said the event would be held in three categories and an FAI license would be mandatory for all participating pilots.
Thakur said all arrangements for the competition were complete.
Pilots Sonu Kumar, Amit, Ankush and Shinde, who have arrived for the event, said they were excited to participate and had practiced extensively. They said strong winds in the area could make the competition challenging, adding that the contest was expected to be competitive and exciting.
