Raghveer Chauhan, who has been working at Captain Amarinder Singh’s Moti Mahal in Patiala for the past 20 years and looks after cows there, has won a Rs 1 crore lottery prize after purchasing a ticket for Rs 7.
Chauhan bought the lottery ticket from Phahara Chowk in Patiala. He said he was extremely happy after learning that his ticket had won the prize and plans to use the money to build a house and arrange his children’s marriages.
The winning ticket was part of the Dear Vision weekly lottery operated by the Nagaland state government, according to Punjab Trading Company owner Chander Bhushan Aggarwal and Tarun Aggarwal.
They said the lottery draw was held on October 3, and the winning ticket had been sold through their agency’s seller, Jai Kishan Lottery, Patiala.
The lottery company representatives said they contacted Chauhan after the prize was announced on October 5.
They further said their company had recorded two Rs 1 crore prizes within a week, with two people winning Rs 1 crore each.
The lottery win has brought Chauhan a major financial windfall after his Rs 7 ticket secured the top prize.
