A kaleidoscope of colourful birds.

The Chandigarh Bird Park, located in the heart of Chandigarh near Sukhna Lake in Sector 1 , is a serene haven for bird and nature lovers. The park has a diverse range of exotic and native bird species. Notable residents include vibrant Macaws, African Grey Parrots, Golden Pheasants, and colorful Conures, offering visitors an opportunity to observe and enjoy these birds up close in a naturalistic environment. The park has two aviaries, one aquatic and one terrestrial, which are designed to mimic natural habitats. The tall net structures offer a vertical flying space of about 58 feet for the birds to fly freely and thrive. The park was developed by the Chandigarh Forest Department to promote bird conservation and nature education.

The Bird Park in Chandigarh is famous for its diverse bird species. Chandigarh Bird Park is open from 10 am to 6 pm. The ticket price is fixed for everyone and also varies by age; it’s Rs 30 for children aged 5 to 10 years, Rs 50 for adults, and Rs 100 for foreign tourists. The chirping sounds of the birds and their beautiful varieties are very heart-warming. I visited the Bird Park with my friends for the first time last Sunday, and the experience was truly unique and wonderful. We had a lot of fun. It really is a happening place if fun, frolic, nature, and bird watching is what you like. The park is closed on Monday and Tuesday, though. So you can plan your visit accordingly.
You can really enjoy yourself there with your family and take great photos because the place has many scenic spots to cash in on. When I visited with my friends, we had a wonderful time and took some lovely pictures and videos to make reels on. There is a beautiful fountain there and a waterfall too! which looks stunning with all the black and white swans swimming in it. We took photos right in front of it, as the atmosphere here is calm and peaceful.

According to Shivani, who lives in Chandigarh and works in a retail store in Sector 17, the place is a must visit, “I have come here many times with my family and will love to return here again and again with my friends to watch the multi-hued birds perched pretty here”. While Komal, who works at the reception of a hotel in Zirakpur, adds, “There are beautiful birds here, and the environment is so delightful that one doesn’t feel like leaving. In fact, I love to spend time here in this nature’s heaven whenever I feel low because this place and these lovely birds instantly rejuvenate me.”

The entrance to the Chandigarh Bird Park is truly beautiful; the bird sculptures here look incredibly realistic even though they are man-made. The way they have been crafted is stunning. There’s also plenty of greenery here; it’s a great spot to spend some time to heal oneself here, away from the humdrum of life, and there is a wide variety of bird species here, making it a perfect place for some infotainment.
Seeing the exotic birds here makes you want to touch, feel, and pet them because they look so incredible, even though touching them isn’t allowed. For photography, the fountain area is a great spot to take plenty of pictures, as the views captured here are excellent. Many tourists, including people from Punjab, the neighboring states, and even the foreign tourists visiting the city, can be seen visiting and enjoying the place; the location possesses a unique energy and beauty that truly captivates the mind and assails one’s senses.
