The Kullu district BJP organised a programme at Dhalpur on Wednesday to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 25 years in public life. Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur, Mandi MP Kangana Ranaut, former minister Govind Singh Thakur and BJP workers attended the event.

A Seva Jyoti Yatra was also held as part of the programme, during which BJP workers listened to Modi’s address on his political journey and the achievements of the Union Government.

Thakur said Seva Sankalp programmes were being organised across the country to mark 25 years of Modi’s public service. He said the initiatives aimed to encourage party workers to contribute towards society and nation-building.

BJP workers also took a pledge under Mission-2047 to contribute towards building a developed and self-reliant India. Thakur said collective efforts would be needed to achieve the goal of making India a developed nation by 2047.

He said Modi had taken oath as the Gujarat Chief Minister on October 7, 2001, and had since completed 25 years in public life. He said programmes were being organised across the country to mark the milestone, while activities under Seva Saptah were aimed at promoting public service and nation-building.

Thakur targets AAP over Punjab

Reacting to allegations by Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann against the BJP-led Union Government, Thakur alleged that Punjab, once known for supplying food grains to the country, had been severely affected by drug abuse.

He alleged that several incidents involving young people affected by drug addiction had been reported in the state and accused the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) of harming public interests.

On AAP leaders’ allegations regarding the CBI raids, Thakur said he saw no basis in their claims. He said investigations into alleged wrongdoing by AAP leaders in Punjab should not be questioned.
